While in Los Angeles, Doug also became known for his carpentry skills by making furniture as a hobby. From having his pieces sold in a handful of small boutiques, to using a friend in the movie business to build sets, Doug spent the next few years hammering away at his craft, literally. This led him to becoming a Construction Coordinator. He worked on several Comedy Central shows such as The Man Show and Crank Yankers both of which filmed at Hollywood Center Studios where Doug's company, 41 Sets, is today.
With confidence in his abilities as a businessman, Hollywood Center Studios was swift to offer Doug the opportunity to have his own space on the HCS lot. Doug incorporated his age into his company's name as he was 41 at the time. In six short years, Doug went from doing every aspect of his business on his own, to operating a fully staffed, successful set design and construction company, 41 Sets.
Today, 41 Sets boasts a roster of credits that includes providing sets for the hottest pop musicians such as Britney Spears, Beyonce, Rihanna and Kanye West. And providing sets for reality shows, sitcoms, commercials, film and print, 41 Sets continues to build on its good name.
Eternally the entrepreneur, Doug's vision can currently be seen in his new project, Hollywood & Wine. With partners Candace Kita, Emmy Award Winning Valerio Ventura, Doug's new boutique wine label is a hit with those looking for an inexpensive, distinct, full-flavored wine that delivers a presence worthy of the red carpet. Of course, Doug had to take it to another level, so he decided to create a wine portfolio unlike any other: to make a collection that would reflect what Hollywood is all about and to include in his vision the film genres and glamour of the most famous city in the world. Doug Jeffery, actor, businessman, entrepreneur and iconoclast. He is constantly trying to recreate and reinvent himself. He lives by his words: If you can dream it, you can achieve it.
